to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.

Rev. Dr. Richard Davis, (Pastor Rich) has been an ordained minister for 40 years. His first congregation was in Leadville, Colorado, the highest incorporated city in the United States. From there he went into the active duty Air Force Chaplaincy. He served in exotic places such as Altus, Oklahoma; Hahn, Germany; Tacoma, Washington; Wichita Falls, Texas; and Okinawa, Japan. He retired from the Chaplaincy 22 years ago and was the pastor of Lutheran Church of the Cross in Kent, Washington. After being at this congregation for four years, the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, Board of Education called him to be the Advisor on Personal Growth and Leadership at Concordia Theological Lutheran Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He did this for 10 academic years and then the position was downsized. He then did some long-term vacancies in Indiana and Ohio, along with Hospice Chaplaincy, (He also sold tools at Sears during this time). He then decided to retire from the official church and be emeritus, but this didn't last long. After some initial training as an Intentional Interim Pastor, he decided to move back to the Northwest where some of his children and their families live. He became trained and totally certified as an LCMS Intentional Interim Pastor. He has done two Intentional Interim Ministry in Washington, State, and one in Minot, North Dakota. He has also been the campus pastor to Concordia University Portland School of Law in Boise, Idaho.
He is married to his lovely wife, Gail, for 49 years. They live in Meridian, Idaho. He has 3 adult children, Zachariah, Shawn and Victoria and 7 grandchildren ranging from 20 year old to 2 years old.
